Developmental Screening

What is a Developmental Screening?

Developmental screenings are activity-based questionnaires that can be completed by the person who knows your child best – you. These screenings will ask you age-specific questions about your child’s development and activities that your child can do. The results give you a point-in-time snapshot of your child’s development and are a great way to make sure that your infant, toddler, or preschooler is healthy and ready to learn and grow. Routine developmental screenings are good for all children between birth and age 6.

The best person to track your child’s development is you!

Help Me Grow offers two developmental questionnaires: Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) and ASQ focused on social-emotional development. Both are designed to help parents and caregivers follow and understand their child’s development.

What does Help Me Grow do with your child’s ASQ results?

After the questionnaire is completed, a Family Resource Navigator will contact you within a week to share your child’s results. Also, based on the results Help Me Grow staff may provide information and help you connect to community resources.

This is a FREE and CONFIDENTIAL service. Interpretation services are available.
